Coming Up: Macon Film Festival 2021

Macon Film Festival 2021

Lights, camera, action! The 16th Annual Macon Film Festival 2021 is putting the spotlight back on independent films and the art of filmmaking in Central Georgia once again in-person August 19th through 22nd!

The Festival

The Macon Film Festival 2021 applauds independent and immersive films. It encourages filmmaking for inspiration, education, entertainment and economic development.

It is set to be a hybrid event with both online and in-person events. Although, the dates will be different.

Again, hold the dates for the in-person event Thursday, August 19th, through Sunday, August 22nd. However, don’t fret if you miss a film you really wanted to see! The online portion has a weekend of its own the following Thursday, August 26th, through Sunday, August 29th.

The online segment will be hosted by Film Festival Flix, a streaming platform that partners with film festivals for a top-notch virtual experience. Patrons will be able to stream the 2021 submissions on the website at or through their mobile apps.

The Macon Film Festival 2021 in-person event includes three days of film screenings, special guests, workshops and Q&A sessions. The line-up is jammed packed with more than 85 narratives, documentaries, short films, student shorts, local Macon shorts and more. Screenings will be shown in three Macon venues.

In addition, have fun with a free, yet-to-be-named, family-friendly movie on the grounds of the Mill Hill Community Arts Center at 213 Clinton St.
