Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza 2022

Smile. Do a little dance. Be merry. The Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza 2022 is going on now in downtown Macon, where you can do all three!

About The Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza 2022

The Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza 2022 is presented by Northway Church. This annual holiday tradition lights up four city blocks in the heart of downtown.

More than 600,000 lights shine bright now through January 1st, 2023. What’s more, the colorful lights move in time to music produced and arranged by Macon Pops!

Twenty-five Christmas songs arranged by Macon Pops, a high-energy, world-class orchestra, feature a local Macon artist as a testament to the city’s musical history. From “Joy to the World” to “Jingle Bell Rock” to “Winter Wonderland” and everything in between, bob along to the beat of classics with a Macon twist.

More about the festival

The lights come on each night from 6 to 10 p.m. Nightly shows begin at 6 p.m. Each show lasts about 45 minutes and starts at the top of each hour. The last show starts at 9 p.m.

Visitors can walk or drive through the dazzling display at their leisure. However, guests are strongly encouraged to park and walk for the full experience.

In fact, part of that experience could include carriage rides and selfies with Santa on certain dates in December, for instance.
