If pink is your favorite color, there is one place you need to be this spring—Macon, GA! Now is the time to make plans for the International Cherry Blossom Festival, happening March 17th-26th.
About the Cherry Blossom Festival
There’s no better way to describe what Macon looks like in the coming weeks than in the city’s own words. If you want to come to “the pinkest party on Earth” and see firsthand a “pink, cotton-spun paradise” with more than 350,000 Yoshino cherry trees in bloom, you are in luck!
With the 41st International Cherry Blossom Festival kicking off on St. Patrick’s Day this year, the Irish may be green with envy when it comes to this celebration.
For 10 days, Macon is in full bloom—making it one of the prettiest places in the South. What started as a three-day festival has since grown into a month-long celebration.
Plan your visit
There are concerts, live music, a parade, a ball, races—including one for wiener dogs—park parties and so much more. In fact, with so much to do and see, the best way to discover it all would be to check out the event schedule here.
One new feature to the International Cherry Blossom Festival festivities is the Pink Provisions Trail, which actually starts March 1st and ends March 31st. The idea behind it? A visitor’s cheat sheet! The trail includes more than three dozen restaurants that will guide guests on where to “eat and drink everything pink.”
Each location is tickled pink to share their unique creations, from pink tortillas to pink pancakes to pink nachos! Festival-goers will also have a chance to vote for their favorite pink drink. There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from.
