School is out for summer! That means it’s the perfect time to get outdoors at Lake Tobesofkee in Macon. Located just outside the city limits, Lake Tobesofkee offers a cool, nearby place to swim, fish, boat, sail, hike, picnic and more!
About Lake Tobesofkee
Lake Tobesofkee covers almost 1,800 acres and includes 35 miles of shoreline. It also features three parks, each with white sandy beaches. Each beach is staffed with lifeguards during the summer season.
Claystone Park
Located on Moseley Dixon Road, Claystone Park at Lake Tobesofkee is open year-round, Monday through Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Visitors can go swimming, fishing, boating, sailing and camping, including at paved RV sites. There are picnic pavilions available for use as well as public rentals, including an enclosed, climate-controlled pavilion. With lake and beach views, it’s perfect for special events like family reunions and summer birthdays!
Don’t forget to let the kids burn more energy at the playgrounds, or get the whole family involved on the disc golf course.
Sandy Beach Park
Sandy Beach Park is also located on Moseley Dixon Road, near Interstate 475. But unlike Claystone Park, it’s open seasonally.
Besides the white sandy beach, there is a playground, picnic areas and pickle ball courts.
Arrowhead Park
Another place to get outdoors at Lake Tobesofkee in Macon is Arrowhead Park. You’ll find access to this park off Columbus Road, near U.S. 80. It features a beach, camping, RV sites, boat ramps, picnic areas and a playground.
It is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

You have several options to get outdoors at Lake Tobesofkee in Macon. More specifically, Claystone Park is located at 6600 Moseley Dixon Road, while Sandy Beach Park is at 6880 Moseley Dixon Road.
Arrowhead Park is located at 2800 Arrowhead Drive in Lizella, which is about seven miles from Summer Park Apartments!
