An entrance you have to look for. A passcode to get in. Stairs lit by the glow of vintage gold sconces and the soft sound of 1930s jazz are what greet you at Black Cat Liquor and Libations in downtown Macon.
About Black Cat Liquor and Libations
Black Cat Liquor and Libations, Macon’s first underground speakeasy, opened in late April to the delight of locals, according to reports that shared reservations are “filling up fast.”
This isn’t the sort of place you pop in for a quick drink. It’s the sort of place you plan to visit with friends you can’t wait to catch up with. Black Cat is an intimate setting with just 31 seats for guests, which is why reservations are a good idea.
Part of the allure and fun start as soon as you book your reservation and receive the passcode for entry. Remember to dress in business-casual attire for your evening at the elegant speakeasy.
Black Cat is open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thursday and from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. During that time, it might be hard to choose which of the 45 original, handcrafted (often with house-made ingredients) cocktails you want to try.
