One of downtown’s newest hot spots, Sophia’s on Second in Macon, celebrated its grand opening on July 20th. Since then, guests have been enjoying the lively atmosphere and outdoor patio seating almost as much as the specialty food and drink selection.
The menu features a wide variety of items, including shareables, dips, salads, flatbread pizzas and, of course, cocktails.
The menu
For starters, there are delicious charcuterie boards that are almost too pretty to eat, featuring a gourmet assortment of meats, artisan cheeses, candied pecans, pickled veggies, jams, pita chips and more. Other delectables include seared ahi tuna with a chimichurri drizzle and Hawaiian skewers with chicken, red onion, green peppers, pineapple and a teriyaki drizzle.
Salads are made fresh with farm-to-table ingredients. Or, opt for something more filling with your choice of three signature flatbread pizzas, including the “Italian.”
Last but not least, signature cocktails are sure to spice things up, especially if you opt for the “Spicy Margarita.” Sophia’s version features jalapeño tequila, triple sec, lime and fresh jalapeños in a tall glass rimmed with Tajín. To clarify, that’s a unique blend of mild chili peppers, lime and sea salt.
